Have your works been published before? Have you taken part in group exhibitions or had solo exhibition(s)? Mainly I publish on my personal Facebook page and on my Artist page. Sometimes I publish in groups but very seldom. My work has been exhibited in many cities in Portugal. Twice I've exhibited with another painter. All the other ones were solo exhibitions. The last one was back in November 2015 in Faro. I've been frequently invited to exhibit abroad but I've never accepted, as I can't afford the traveling costs and shipping my works. It's very expensive. And also because of my job as a teacher. What have been the biggest obstacles in carving your path as an artist and what would you consider the highlight of your career so far? Money is the biggest obstacle in the end. The paintings need to be transported and when invited to go abroad, I've had to decline. This year I've accepted to show my works in Colombia, this will happen in August, and this was only possible due to the amazing conditions of the gallery (Galeria Pilares). Who have been your biggest influences, artistically? How would you say they have influenced you? I will just say names without justifying much. Mimmo Rotella, Cy Twombly, Antonio Tapies, Tadeuz Kantor wonderful actor, theater director and plastic artist... I could mention so many but these are sacred to me. What do you consider the most important thing for an artist to have? Passion. Greatness. Poetry. I seem poems in every single image. I don't like standardized patterns, dogmas, as I find no poetry or enchantment in them regardless of the joy or sadness each image or object might have. There is beauty in both for me. Poetry and enchantment above all. What do you want people to take away from your art? Emotion. It does not matter if it's good or bad. Joyful or sad, as long as it disturbs you inside. If it does there is art in art. At least for the eyes of the beholder. It makes
