and artistic activity. I am an accounts and finance
assistant director in housing certification. Both
activities are linked though because photography is an
expensive activity and my job enables me to support
my position as an author-photographer.
What is your earliest memory connected to
photography or a particular photograph?
My first camera, a Pentax ME Super. Even though in
those days digital technology did not exist and buying
films was rather costly because of their development, I
would take it with me almost everywhere.
If you encounter a nervous model, how do you relax
him/her?
(Laugh) I think I am more nervous than my models. I'm
afraid the photo shoot goes wrong, of wasting my time
and my model's, but when harmony has arisen between
the model and the photograph and each one knows
what he/she has to do, nervousness disappears to make
room for the excitement to do nice things together.
Have you experienced funny incidents during
photoshoots? Can you share one of them?
Many... Some of them were funny, some others were
not. One of my models had to be shot in a river. When
he got out of the water, he had leeches all over his
body and hair. The idea of a leech in his ear was
worrying him.
On the contrary, a flash exploded only 20 inches away
from one of my models' face. No harm done, but it
shows how important it is to have some safe and
professional equipment.
What is your favorite photograph by someone else, and
why?
I don't have a favorite photograph. I like everything that
touches me, directly or indirectly. The sentence by
French photographer Vincent Fillon, generalises a
matter of fact: "A photograph is a success when the
"I think I am more nervous than
