"I feel that writing is one of the best therapies. I always feel a calm come over me when I've written one of my darker poems. Where I felt pent up and anxious before, those feelings fade when I write." managed to take all these terrible things that happened to her and make something out of it. What do you want people to take away from your art? If I create something that resonates with someone in some way or inspires them that's always good. Do you have a favorite medium or do you work with several mediums? Sketching, painting, watercolors, sculpting, acrylic and recently got into digital art, so many possibilities. I love to do them all! What is your favorite piece of art by someone else? And why has it made such an impression on you? Starry Night by Van Gogh. It's what got me into him and his work. It's what made me want to explore painting myself. It's one of the first paintings of his I remember seeing when I was young. If you would not be allowed to paint/draw anymore, what other medium would you choose to explore and why? Writing. I have so many stories and characters in my head, I'd love to be able to write them out, and hone my writing skills. And I'd love to be able to sing or play an instrument. Music is important to me. I'd love to be able to create something musically. Any projects you are currently working on? Character design for a sci-fi fantasy story I've developed. Alien worlds and races and such. It's still in the early stages. I'm also at working on a vampire comic/story I've conceived. We regularly ask artists to explain what art is and what it means to them, to describe it in their own words. So while it's not an easy task, how would you define art and how would you describe it? What does it mean to you? Art is so much more than just images on a canvas. It has the ability to really inspire, encourage or save. Art is the only thing that gets me through sometimes, as corny as that sounds. I need it. The same can be said for any medium: writing, singing and making music. It's something everybody can relate to or have an opinion on. It's subjective, a good painting, book, song or movie. It's universal.
