K: What do you think is interesting about the Korean music business, and what is more on the critical side? Albi: It’s remarkable how forward-thinking and ambitious the people in the business are. Creativity and innovation are still valued tremendously, which is what is expected of the songwriters and producers as well. he level and standard of the shows, the performers and the singers are extremely high and everything is planned right up to the smallest details. hings, that are sometimes very diferent in many other countries and businesses these days and most probably one of the reasons, why Kpop has been receiving a lot of atention worldwide. Of course, as with everything, there are also drawbacks to a highly developed system and business like this. Being a Kpop Star is probably not the easiest and most comfortable of jobs. K: What will we hear from you in 2014? Albi: My latest release is the E-Girls single “Diamond Only”. I have songs coming with Kumi Koda, Ater School, SHINee and many more. here are a lot of projects about which I’m not allowed to say anything yet but in any case there is going to be lots of new stuf! I’ve also just founded my publishing company called MUSSASHI Publishing. A publishing house based in Berlin, dedicated to creating new, revolutionary hits for the Asian music market, developing new talent and help writers create exciting and unique songs and productions. I’m sure that soon we’ll be hearing a lot from some of the new writers as well. K: hanks a lot for the interview. 27
