Prayer
"Perfect love casts out fear"

God who welcomes strangers as guests
Who invites children to sit near
Who spreads a table lavish with love
Who opens wide and beckons in
Who asks us to trust your gracious reach . . .
Look into my heart.
You know that when I encounter a stranger
Fear is my unwelcome guest
Driving out all thoughts of angels encountered unawares.
Teach me a different way – your way of welcome.
Let your perfect love cast out fear and fill my heart
With your way, the way of Jesus.
