Education Education provides independent and analytical thought, fosters self-confidence and provides opportunities the children would otherwise not have access to. Basic Care Anjali children often don’t have sufficient facilities or instruction at home to properly care for their health and hygiene. At Anjali House, they shower, brush their teeth and receive medical treatment when necessary. The Arts The arts are increasilngly being recognized as a way to improve cognitive learning, increase right-side brain development and build self-esteem among disenfranchised children. According to the World Bank, 20.5% of the Cambodian population lived below the poverty line in 2011. The poverty line is defined as US$ 0.93 per day. That is 1 in 5 people.
