2015-2016 Florida District Circle K International Theme:
We’re Wild About Service!
Governor’s Project:
Removing invasive plant species
Planting native plant species
Educating the community about invasive plant species
Invasive plants are introduced
multicellar organisms of the
kingdom Plantae, which produce their food by photosynthesis .An invasive plant has
the ability to thrive and
spread aggressively outside its
native range. A naturally aggressive plant may be especially invasive when it is introduced to a new habitat.
When we asked District Governor
Jessica Cook how this project came
her answer was the following:
“About 7 years ago I was dragged to a
community education event by my
mom. Some lady was giving a presentation about invasive plant species…
that lady happened to be my mom.”
