Attending this years District Large Scale Service Project was a blast. I really enjoyed
being able to talk and dance with the senior citizens at the Life Care Center. One
woman really stood out to me though. She and I had a really great conversation about
her grandchildren, who are currently in Indiana. She had plenty of fun stories to tell
about them, as well as what they were doing in school and what they wanted to do
after. She was even more excited to tell me that she would be moving back to Indiana
soon. I really enjoyed talking to her and learning about her life and grandchildren,
especially since I will be moving to Indiana soon. I was able to talk to several more
residents at the Life Care Center, but it was the dancing that really got the residents
going. Dancing with the residents was my favorite part of DLSSP. I had a great time
dancing with the residents and the many CKI members in attendance. I would have
to say my favorite song to dance to was anything by Elvis. Every time Elvis played the
residents were really excited. The electric slide was also a lot of fun. Outside of the
fantastic senior citizens at the Life Care Center, I was also really excited to see many
of my fellow Florida District CKI members. As always, seeing my friends from South
Florida are great, so shout out to Palm Beach State! Overall, DLSSP was a really great
experience. I had a lot of fun and was glad to bring smiles to the faces of the residents.

Hello Florida District! My name is Shannon
Feeney and I am your immediate past Projects Chair! Spring DLSSP was held in Orlando, FL were we held a rockin' sock hop.
We worked with Life Care Rehabilitation
and threw an awesome party and got to
interact with all the residents there. Lots of
good times were had! We also collected over
200 pairs of socks for Straight Street which
is a homeless ministry that benefits downtown Orlando. Thank you to everyone that
came out and be sure to look out for Fall
DLSSP!
