Fear of the Impossible

Sometimes I see myself sitting on the corner of life, watching from far away all of the potential. At the same time, the "no possibilities" paralyzed me. In other words, I'm paralyzed by fear. I believe that the reason of many unborn great ideas, journeys, ministries and opportunities in the world are because some of us are sitting, paralyzed in that same corner.

Fear is the worst disease of the human being not by the essence of it, but by the lack of its antibody: FAITH. In Matthew 14, 22-36, Peter was in the boat in the moment that all the disciples saw Jesus walk on water.

When the disciples saw him walking on the water,

they were terrified.

In their fear, they cried out, "It's a ghost!"

But Jesus spoke to them at once.

"Don't be afraid," he said.

"Take courage. I am here!"

- Matthew 14, 26-27 (NLT)

Each one of the disciples had the opportunity to trust the words of Jesus, but all were paralyzed with fear except for Peter. He chose to take the first step over the boat, doing what everyone thought was impossible. We all know in that moment Peter began to walk on water, but when he saw the strong winds and waves, fear and doubt appeared again and he started to sink.

There were moments in my life when I chose to step out of the boat and walk to the impossible. But just as Peter experienced, suddenly I saw a big storm and started to sink. Like Peter, I had doubt and fear. Like Peter, Jesus took my hand and saved me.

But ultimately I stood up from that corner where the disciples stayed and I made the

first step of Faith, walking toward the impossible, believing in the words of Jesus: "Take courage. I am here!"

Try it! Put me to the test!"

Malachi 3, 10 (NLT) A great path for the impossible begins with just a little bit of Faith, and if in the middle of the journey you start to sink, you'll be closer to Jesus than ever before. He won't leave you alone. Have this in mind:

...says the Lord of Heaven's Armies

"I will open the windows of heaven for you.

I will pour out blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in!

Put Him to the test, try it! What can you lose?!

I tried many ways to get rid of fear in my life, and failed. I would love to tell you that fear will leave completely, but that wouldn't be true. I'm tired of losing the "what could be", aren't you?! I have learned to use fear to my advantage, not letting it paralyze me, but to play the game. As it happened to Peter, there will be people who tell you it's impossible or that you can't make it. Your mind, your insecurities, past guilt, past experiences, un-forgiveness and many other factors could be your worst enemies. All these things will keep you sitting in that corner like the disciples. Trust was the only requirement for Peter to walk on water towards Jesus, Lord of the Impossible. You don't even need to have a perfect life! You just have to trust Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior because He is always with you.
