5 EASY WAYS TO CUT CALORIES

One easy way to slim down is by making small changes in your diet. Cutting 500 calories per day can result in 1 pound per week weight loss, since it takes 3500 calories to equal one pound. Just by reducing each meal and snack by 100 calories, and burning an extra 200 calories by staying active, a gradual, healthy weight loss can be achieved.

Use this as a guide to cutting back:

1. Choose one fat source per meal. Instead of using mayo, cheese, and bacon on your sandwich, pick one instead.

• 1 Tbs Kraft Mayonaise= 90 calories

• 3 medium slices of Bacon= 103 calories

• 1 American Cheese slice=94 calories

2. Use non-stick cooking spray in place of butter or margarine to cook with.

• 2 Tbsp Country Crock spreadable butter=102 calories

3. Use 2 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar and 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil in place of regular dressing.

• 2 Tbsp Kraft ranch dressing= 148 calories

• 2 Tbsp Ken’s Steak house zesty Italian dressing= 80 calories

4. Eat half a bagel with low fat cream cheese and a piece of fruit instead of a whole bagel.

• 1 cinnamon raisin bagel= 287 calories (1/2 bagel=143 calories)

• 2 Tbs Philadelphia Cream cheese= 90 calories; 1/3 Fat Cream cheese=60

5. Drink Water instead of juice or soda!

• 12 oz can of soda= 160 calories
