The construction industry plays a vital role in our economy, The national construction challenges we face, including the need for more housing and major transport and other infrastructure, require contributions from all our professions and disciplines because these challenges can only be addressed by the industry’s professions working together to ensure that what we build is not only fit for our needs but that we make places and buildings which are sustainable, safe and inclusive. I look forward to working with all in the industry to ensure we can do this together.” CIC Chief Executive Graham Watts OBE welcomed the new appointment by saying: “The appointment of Professor Crook as Deputy Chairman of CIC is an important step to follow the changes implemented following last year’s strategic review, which focused the Council on being the Built Environment Professions Together, concerned with the wider profession- al issues within the built environment.   Professor Crook is the first nominee of the Royal Town Planning Institute to be appointed as Deputy Chairman and brings a wealth of expe- rience to the role.” Current CIC Chair John Nolan also welcomed the appoint- ment saying: “I am delighted that Tony will be joining the leadership team at CIC and I look forward to working with him over the next two years focusing on positive ways to address our industry’s challenges and to celebrate its suc- cesses.” Senior Electrical & Security Systems Ltd are now one of Stocksfield Group’s preferred sub contractors.
