hese are the words
of a generation
of southeastern Michigan
students. As financial
deficits grow, so does
the endless pit of empty
promises. As academic
progress is stifled,
creativity is snuffed out
until it no longer exists.
Once a proud symbol of
American innovation and
production, Metro-Detroit
now produces a thirty-five
percent drop-out rate.
The business community
may be on the rise, but
the school community
continues to sink into
despair. The people of
Metro-Detroit continue to
hope, wonder, and wait.
Will change ever come?
