These seven senses are our spiritual senses, collectively known as the ‘sixth sense’. It is these ‘clairs’ that will help us be in touch with our inner voice, also known as our intuition, and with the divine and astral planes.

When looking at the spiritual senses, it is logical to understand that everyone has access to them. Due to the fact that these senses are generally not ‘encouraged’ as we are growing up, however, to touch with them and sometimes block them. In some cases, there are also people who will be unable to access a sense (for example you could be ‘spiritually blind’ which means you can not access your clairvoyant abilities). This could be caused by many reasons, just as any of our physical senses may lose their ability. It is important then, if you are wanting to connect to the spiritual level of your life, that you begin to understand these senses and learn how to use your intuition.

Subconscious intuition – dreaming

Just as we can use our five physical senses with or without conscious thought, our intuition can be used subconsciously, as well as consciously. One of the more obvious subconscious efforts is dreaming.

What exactly is dreaming?

Sigmund Freud did a study on dreaming and the unconscious mind. In it, ”Freud said that,’The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious activities of the mind.’ He meant that because dreams are such an unconscious activity they give an almost direct insight into the workings of the unconscious mind.” (American Psychoanalytic Association 2009-2013)

When we are sleeping, our minds are given an opportunity to work through our daily lives on a deeper level. What we ‘naturally’ experience will be thought through during the process.
