BOB FELDERMAN AWARDED THE CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST DESIGNATION
“ General ” Bob Felderman , of Continental Realty Dubuque & Felderman Appraisals , Dubuque , IA , has been awarded the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist ( CRS ) Designation by the Council of Residential Specialists , the largest nonprofit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors .
Realtors who receive the CRS Designation have completed advanced professional training and demonstrated outstanding professional achievement in residential real estate . Only 37,000 realtors nationwide have earned the credential .

UNITYPOINT HEALTH ® -FINLEY HEALTH FOUNDATION AWARDED DRA GRANT
UnityPoint Health ® -Finley Health Foundation was a recipient of a $ 5,000 grant from the Dubuque Racing Association . The grant will support Finley Hospital ’ s Family Birthing Suites in purchasing a new baby weight scale , a necessary piece of equipment for the department .
The specialized baby weight scale is accurate to one gram and is heated to prevent a newborn from getting cold during the first critical hours of life . This scale is essential to giving babies a good start in life . The scale is used on the unit while the mother and baby are inpatients or mothers can bring their babies in to weigh them between provider visits . This is helpful to mothers struggling with breastfeeding , and in turn will help the Dubuque area meet the Healthy 2020 goal of increasing the breastfeeding population and increasing the health of US children .
AMERICAN TRUST ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENT
Nick Schrup , President and Chief Executive Officer of American Trust & Savings Bank , announced that Pam R . Goedken has joined the bank as Vice President and Personal Trust Manager . In her new position , she will oversee and manage the Wealth Management Department .
Pam has more than 27 years of experience in retirement and financial services , personal trust services , investments , and banking services . Most recently , she has worked as a Trust Officer at First Community Trust .
Pam attended Upper Iowa University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business .
NECAS DIRECTOR RECEIVES I-CASH AWARD
Dan Neenan , director of the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety ( NECAS ) at Northeast Iowa Community College ’ s ( NICC ) Peosta campus , has received the 2016 I-CASH Hall of Fame Award . I- CASH created the Hall of Fame Award in 2002 to recognize individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to agricultural safety and health in Iowa .
A trained first responder , Neenan serves as a paramedic specialist and firefighter II with the Epworth and Centralia / Peosta Iowa Fire Department . He serves on the Iowa EMS and I-CASH advisory boards , chairs the Iowa Community College Fire Program Manager task force , is treasurer of the Dubuque County EMS Association and has served on the Progressive Ag Foundation Board . In 2012 , Neenan received an MBA from the University of Dubuque .
Neenan has conducted numerous education programs on-site at NECAS , across Iowa and the U . S . His training programs are sought nationally and have brought him to 30 U . S . states . One of his most recent efforts is related to grain bin safety , which is supported by OSHA and other resources .
The NECAS director has also designed and constructed mobile confined space demonstrations related to manure pit safety that have been extremely effective for training first responders , farmers , and employees about the hazards , prevention strategies , and rescue methods involved in confined spaces .
I-CASH is a state funded center , collaboratively managed by the University of Iowa , Iowa State University , the Iowa Department of Public Health , and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship . The center is based at the University of Iowa College of Public Health .
AREA RESIDENTIAL CARE HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Board of Directors of Area Residential Care is pleased to announce the hiring of Allen Ward as the agency ’ s new Executive Director . Mr . Ward will be coming to Area Residential Care with more than 26 years of experience providing services to persons with intellectual disabilities and to persons in the senior care arena .
Allen is coming to Area Residential Care from Dallas , GA where he most recently did consulting work with Benchmark Human Services and Partners 31 , LLC . His primary responsibilities there included providing assessments and strategies for customer services , quality assurance , risk management , staffing and staff training , as well as multiple other service components to providers in the intellectual disabilities and senior care arenas . Allen also worked as the Director of Residential Services for Liberty ARC in Amsterdam , NY and as a Senior Regional Director for ResCare , Inc . during his 26 years in the disabilities field .
Allen expressed his desire to work at Area Residential Care because he wanted to “ get back into working with a team of people that is dedicated to working at providing top quality services .” Area Residential Care ’ s Board of Directors is confident that Allen ’ s combination of experiences in management and consulting services will mesh well with the existing core of administrative , supervisory , and direct contact staff that currently is in place providing those top quality services .
