Juicebox Out & About. Summer 2014 | Page 48

JUICEBOX 25 By doing that I had the chance to work in closer contact also with the embroidery designer , Emily , who was giving me suggestions on how to improve some of the samples or make them more precise .
My general daily jobs would also include organizing Katrin ’ s office and tidying up at the end of the day , printing the research and all the photographs of the drapes , ready for the presentation the day after , keeping the patterns in order and all labelled in files to be easily recognizable once they had to be used .
Did you get the chance to meet Alber Elbaz ?
Alber is in the studio everyday , also weekends , so yes , I had the chance to meet him and work in close contact with him . He oversees everything , continuously making suggestions and coming up with new ideas . He inputs a story for the collection , then he draws the designs , working hand by hand with the rest of the team , with which he is sharing every single meeting and fitting , in order to be able to follow the creative process from its beginning until the end .
I learnt that the role of the leader is crucially important to keep the entire group cohesive and create with it a strong and rich collection . I really think this is one of the biggest strengths of Lanvin and it should be an example for every company willing to obtain the same success . The warm atmosphere in the studio and the cooperative approach really reflected on the collection in a positive way , paying all of us back with great satisfaction .
