For a daytime or night time walk , go to the La Ramblas area for a stroll among all the little shops and bars as well as the market nearby selling all sorts of local candy , fruit , hams and cheeses . After walking from La Barcelonetta all the way up La Ramblas you will come to the square of Placa Catalunya with is also home to the Hard Rock Café Barcelona which is worth
a visit for a touristy treat !
When in Barcelona it is recommended to take one or two ‘ Culture Days ’ to visit some of the most spectacular outdoors attractions like the Sagrada Famiglia and Park Guell as well as some of Barcelona ’ s museums like the Picasso museum , the Joan Miro foundation , the Museum of Contemporary Art and the museum of Catanunya ’ s history as well as the Barcelona
Aquarium .
TIP # 1 : For amazing traditional typical Spanish espadrillas visit “ La Manual Alpargatera ” for a huge range of colors and designs ( prices from 12 euros ).
TIP # 2 : In the same street as the espadrillas shop you will find the “ Flamingos Club ” which is a vintage kilo shop with an amazing range of tropical shirts , second hand worn out Converse and Vans but also a hidden gem tucked at the back of the store - a bar !
TIP # 3 : Something hidden . For Gin lovers , visit “ Xixbar ” which offers around 200 different brands of gin in variations of the classic gin & tonic , peach tonic , James Bond ’ s classic “ shaken not stirred ” and many many more . The bar is also attached to a gin shop next door called “ Gin Corner ”.
TIP # 4 : Visit Barcelona Ice Bar , the first ice bar next to the beach for a unique experience at -5 degrees Celcius with in- bar themes renewed at least twice a year !
