t’s easy to look back at an era
such as the 50s and think of the style
icons from Hollywood. James Dean.
Elvis. Cary Grant. The 50s was a
time of conservative self-expression.
The western world was still suffering
from a post war mentality but new
and exciting sub cultures were
appearing. People were going out to
enjoy themselves, and they wanted
to look good doing so. Society was
starting to loosen up and with the
birth of rock n roll, fashion was losing
it’s stiff upper lip. The Hollywood
explosion and rock n roll revolution
gave birth to one of the most stylish
eras in history. Today, fashion is
much broader with influence being
taken from past styles and nothing
particularly new becoming iconic.
With vintage clothing at arguably
the most popular it’s ever been, this
article will take a look at some of
the biggest stars and how you can
recreate their styles but for a fraction
