But money has never been a motivating factor. "What I’m doing has real value to a lot of people,” he says. “JudoInside.com is a reference for their personal judo achievements. Everyone competes at a different level but they all have their highlights. What some don’t see as impressive results might be the biggest achievement for someone else, so I have to be thorough in updating the website."

Hans has been maintaining JudoInside.com for 15 years and counting. “The thing is, once you start keeping track of competitions, you can’t stop, you have to keep updating the results,” he says. It’s quite a commitment but he’s prepared to keep doing as long as he’s able. It’s something he wants to do.

“Call me Judo Crazy because I’ll always be doing this,” he says. “I love judo and I’m giving back by offering the judo world something special. Please let me know if there’s another person out there who is offering this kind of unique service. I’d like to meet him!”
