What made you choose a career in the medical field ?
“ My parents are both physicians , so they definitely influenced my decision to go to medical school . Growing up , I could see how passionate they were about their work , and I became interested in medicine because of them . Then , while I was a student in the College of Sciences and Mathematics , I was exposed to clinical medicine while volunteering at Mercy Medical Clinic in Auburn . I felt it was a good fit for me , because medicine is intellectually stimulating and allows one to make a positive impact on people ’ s lives .

How did your time at Auburn prepare you for medical school ?
“ My time at Auburn helped me tremendously . I had a really strong foundation in the sciences , so I was able to hit the ground running . In medical school , they start off by teaching all the basic science classes , but I was already familiar with those concepts and in some cases , found we went into more depth at Auburn than we did in medical school . I even heard students say they wish they had gone to Auburn because I was so well prepared .”
