9th Annual Symposium and Luncheon
Society of Women in Sciences and Mathematics
The event will feature keynote speaker Laura W. Folse, geology ’80,
executive vice president for response and environmental restoration at
the BP Gulf Coast Restoration Organization.
The SWSM Symposium showcases distinguished women in the fields
of sciences and mathematics, and area high school girls are invited
to campus to be a part of the dynamic, one-day experience. The
symposium includes a panel discussion from accomplished women in
various disciplines, opportunities to receive mentorship on possible career
opportunities, and a luncheon featuring a keynote speech delivered by
a woman distinguished in her discipline.
The event is sponsored by the Society of Women in Sciences and
Mathematics, a COSAM-based organization committed to increasing
awareness of the opportunities available for women in the fields of
sciences and mathematics.
