Kirby Farrington
J. Kirby Farrington, 62, of Auburn, Ala., died March 26, 2011.
Funeral services were held on March 29 in Auburn. He was born
on Oct. 5, 1948, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Dr. Joseph and Eleanor
H. Farrington. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Harris)
Farrington and daughter, Tracy, of Auburn, and sister, Allison
Metcalf, of Hobe Sound, Fla. He was the son-in-law of Dr. Ralph
and Eleanor A. Harris of Auburn. Farrington received degrees in
biology from LaGrange College and Clemson University, and his
PhD in microbiology from Auburn. His career included technical
and managerial positions in the pharmaceutical industry, at Eli Lilly
in Indianapolis, Ind., at Schering-Plough in Memphis, Tenn., and
at AAI in Charle
