JBH WELCOMES TWO NEW OBSTETRICIANS
Are you looking for an Obstetrician to deliver your baby at JBH ? We are welcoming two new Obstetrician ’ s to the team of physicians caring for our smallest patients . Dr . Ummi Habiba and Dr . Nicholas Sweet have offices in the Burlington community and deliver babies at JBH .
OUR NEW MATERNAL CHILD INPATIENT ROOMS
Over the last nine months , an amazing transformation has taken place within the existing hospital to build our new Maternal and Child Unit . The new unit opened in the beginning of April , 2017 . The unit cares for mothers and new babies , infants who need extra care in the Level Two B Nursery and pediatric patients . This will be the temporary location for the Level Two B Nursery , while it ’ s adjacent , permanent location is being constructed and will open in 2018 .
The unit ’ s design reflects the design of an inpatient unit in the new Patient Tower – patient rooms have great windows to flood the room with natural light , larger three-piece bathrooms and painted accent walls colours to create a healing , comfortable environment . The inpatient room has been built to support and encourage the family involvement in care , with larger rooms and visiting chairs that transition to sleeper chairs , allowing family to comfortably rest overnight to support patient care .
Dr . Ummi Habiba is located in North Burlington at 2951 Walkers Line , 3rd Floor , Burlington and can be contacted at 855-210-0757 .

Hospital Redevelopment :

What ’ s happening inside the existing hospital ?
JBH ’ s Redevelopment and Expansion Project has three phases : the building of the Halton McMaster Family Health Centre and Parking Garage ; the building of the new Patient Tower ; and the renovations to the existing hospital .
We are now transitioning the project from Phase Two to Phase Three , as construction concludes on the Patient Tower and the initial stages of renovations begin in the existing hospital .
Along with EllisDon , our construction team , we are now reviewing and planning the renovations possible in the existing
( original ) building . With a building more than 50 years old , renovations are often challenging and it is vital that the team determine the extent of renovations feasible on each level of the hospital . In an older facility , the best plans may require further review after our construction experts fully evaluate the existing building structure . At JBH we are committed to ensuring any planned renovations will enhance patient care , be cost effective and minimize disruption to hospital operations , while ensuring we can continue to meet the increasing demands for healthcare in our community .
To date , renovation work has taken place in a number of areas , including the Maternal Child Unit as well as support and patient service areas . Our Redevelopment team will continue to work with EllisDon to finalize renovations during the planning phase ( Spring / Summer 2017 ), with renovations to begin in August and continue through 2018 . We look forward to providing our community with regular updates and the scope and progress of this phase of our Hospital Redevelopment .
