LEVEL 2B NURSERY – JBH is now home to a designated level 2B nursery. Due to new technology and collaborative care, our Maternal and Child Special Care Unit now supports mothers giving birth at our hospital from 32 weeks gestation and up. Joseph Brant Hospital had 1,451 births in 2014-2015. DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY – In the fall of 2014, JBH installed a state-of-the-art Digital Mammography System that offers greatly enhanced image quality, significantly reduced doses of radiation and helps with early diagnosis, facilitating a seamless continuum of care for women from screening to treatment. INPATIENT ROOM – The redevelopment and expansion project will include 172 new modern inpatient beds, 70% of which will be in private rooms. The natural light and lake view will provide a healing environment for compassionate care. EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT – The new Emergency Department will be patient and family-focused. Our triage station will assess and direct care as needed. The Emergency unit will have direct access to inpatient mental health, the paediatric inpatient unit and other focused care. MAIN LOBBY – The main lobby will be an open, healing environment that will function as a circulation hub and a vibrant gathering point for hospital patients, visitors, staff and the community at large. OPERATING ROOMS – The design of the operating rooms will accommodate innovative surgical techniques and technology, including endoscopy, lasers, concurrent use of imaging techniques and more. Our new Joseph Brant Hospital will have 9 new Operating Rooms. PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE – Our new bridge will connect the parking garage to the new seven-storey patient tower. The bridge will be environmentally controlled and increase safety and mobility to our patients, visitors and community. 12 Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation Take a look inside our new Joseph Brant Hospital
