INTERNATIONAL DAY OF HAPPINESS

BY BIANCA

”Happiness may have different meanings for different people. But we can all agree that it means working to end conflict, poverty and other unfortunate conditions in which so many of our fellow human beings live.”

The Day of Happiness campaign is a global celebration to mark the United Nations International Day of Happiness. It is coordinated by Action for Happiness, a non-profit movement of people from over 140 countries and supported by a partnership of like-minded organisations.

A profound shift in attitudes is underway all over the world. People are now recognising that ‘progress’ should be about increasing human happiness and wellbeing, not just growing the economy.

All 193 United Nations member states have adopted a resolution calling for happiness to be given greater priority and March 20 has been declared as the International Day of Happiness.

So, we made a survey at English class and me and my classmate

s wrote things that define hapiness for us. Take a look at what they answered, it might surprise you and it will definitely make you think that with our way of thinking the society will end up well.
