Honey is a sweet eatable product, naturally produced by bees as food for themselves. Its gold color and delicious taste is incomparable.
Ecological honey should be an official brand of our country, Romania, as it is perhaps the best in the world. Although our honey is known to have an admirable quality, it is not as popular abroad as it deserves. Honey is being given a big importance, Romanian apiarists being capable of creating not just honey, but a luxury product.

Recently, a group of ambitious apiarists have created a community which has to be based on a very ingenious idea: whenever a family is being given a hive of bees, as a gift, they have the obligation to give some bees to another family. In Salaj, this has already become an important business, their honey becoming a luxury product that has earned a big appreciation from European consumers. One of their speciality is boletus honey, a type of honey containing mushrooms, which which has been tasted even at the Royal House in Great Britain. The dainty costs over 350 euro but it’s said to be totally worth the price. Another remarkable fact that makes their honey even more valuable, is that they decorate the bowl in which the honey is being put, with gold or silver details, or they even attach a silver spoon to it, to complete the whole fancy product.
