DOD Flight Information Publication : Area Planning Military Training Routes The DOD Flight Information document contains special operating procedures for each MTR , some of which include specific flight parameters and avoidance areas for noise sensitive land uses . Typically in sparsely settled areas , which include the coastal counties in the JLUS Study Area , flight is restricted to a minimum altitude of 500 ft . regardless of the published minimums .
