THE SHABBOS PROJECT TORAH ACADEMY MATRIC FAREWELL Chief Rabbi Dr Warren Goldstein’s Shabbos Project Initiative went global, with 65 countries and 465 cities #keepingittogether. The Shabbos Project was also displayed on a billboard in Times Square, for 30 seconds every hour. The Chief Rabbi’s office estimates about 1 000 000 people across the globe kept Shabbos. BOYS: Parents and grandparents attended the Torah Academy Boys’ High matric farewell at the Seeff Hall, SydenhamHighlands North Hebrew Congregation. During an evening of fun and reminiscences, the boys took a quiet break. Principal Rebecca Sarchi presented each girl with a beaded red rose, and the girls are eagerly awaiting their personalised books of tehillim, which are being sent from Israel. All the girls, in turn, addressed and thanked their teachers, while the principal spoke to the girls. Organised by Jewish Interactive, the excitement at the Webinar (Web-seminar) was palpable. The Webinar ended with a rousing ‘Shabbat Shalom’ from both ends of the world. All teachers, students and organisers felt the beauty and power of the moment.
