He always asked many questions about the world around him. One day while he was in the park playing in the sand, he heard some adults talking about the wind. Saul always wanted to find out about the wind. He decided this was the best opportunity to do so. He went over to the adults and asked what they could tell him about the wind. They said the wind is something you feel. “Mmmm,” said Saul, that’s very interesting. I wonder how that feels. He then went to his mom and asked her what she knew about the wind. She said wind is something you can hear. “Shoo,” thought Saul, I wonder what it sounds like. He then decided to go ask his dad what he had to say about the wind. His dad said wind is something that you can see because it makes things move. Saul was overwhelmed with all the answers. He started to think very deeply about the wind. “It’s something you can feel, hear and see. I can’t wait to experience wind.” The next week, while Saul was sitting on the bench in the park, a strong wind storm started blowing. r 'JMMUIFDPOFXJUI Smarties r 6TFJDJOHUPTUJDL the cone to the Marie biscuit r 1JQFUIFCPUUPN of the cone, alternating with blue and yellow icing r 6TFJDJOHUP stick two wafers diagonally onto each other r *DFUIFXBGFS biscuits onto the cone creating a windmill effect r "EEB4NBSUJFJO the middle of the two wafers r 5IFXJOENJMM biscuit is complete 2 – 6 YEARS OLD Saul could hear the wind, woo ooh. He could see the wind as the sand lifted off the ground, the leaves fell off the trees and the swings moved backwards and forwards. Saul then felt the wind as it went right through his body brushing against his skin. Saul loved the wind. He thought how magical it was, as you can only see it, feel it and hear it through other things. Then Saul thought for a while… “Mmmm... wait a minute... You can’t really see the wind. It’s invisible and powerful like Hashem.” Saul then thought maybe the wind is Hashem. Then he thought more deeply and realised that the wind is created by Hashem. It’s not around all the time, whereas Hashem is always there. You can feel Him in your soul, You can see Hashem, not only in the miracles that happen, but everywhere: the beautiful flowers, all the different trees, and insects you see crawling around. Hashem created all of them! Then there are the miracles of tadpoles turning into frogs; a caterpillar turning into the most beautiful butterfly; the different seasons and many, many more miracles. “This world is filled with many magical wonders. Now I know all about the wind.” JEWISH LIFE QISSUE 87 63
