New to the Premium Accessories area this season is the quirky Les Neirides, and its sister brand N2, Carla M Jewellery, and new collections from JOOMAY, with wearable art pieces, Copenhagen’s Dansk Smykkekunst, and Ana Popova, from Moldova. (www.purelondon.com) At London Fashion Week from 16-20 February, Rachel Boston, an award-winning young designer is showing her new bridal collections: Adstrum, inspired by classic diamonds “updated for the modern woman using my signature geometric cuts”. “I use angular halos and borders to change the shape of the central stone and create something elegant but with edge,” she says. The Without Beginning, ‘Without End’ collection includes her favourite grey diamonds, celebrating “the beauty in the imperfect”, and combining them with small white diamonds for a subtle contrast. Galerie Marzee, founded in 1978 is the world’s largest gallery for contemporary jewellery, with a dynamic programme of exhibitions and a permanent Marzee collection. This year their selected artists here include the UK designer Christopher Thompson-Royds, with pieces from his Natura Morta collection – displayed in small vases, the flower heads of each stem of wild flowers can be taken off to be worn as earrings, or a pendant, or brooch. His wedding tiara of 3D flowers in 18ct gold plate and hand painting, to commission so that it can be matched to the dress, served as the starting point for this collection, a successful collaboration with the prestigious bridal designer Hermione de Paula. He will also have a solo show at Galerie Marzee from 25 March -12 May.
