KEN BROWN MARTIN KATZ JULIA WATSON UK area manager of Nomination founder of of Martin Katz Jewellery founder and designer of Tribe+Fable The sale of men’s jewellery continues to grow for Nomination and although our range is unisex the ranges that are predominately purchased by men are up by over 30%. Many of our men’s collections are manufactured using high quality stainless steel and I think this is an added appeal to all ages and we see no reason why the market will not continue to grow. I see the male jewellery market as ever changing, but in small, inconspicuous increments when compared to the more drastic changes characteristic of the female jewellery market. Having said that, I have noticed that the male jewellery market in general is growing with a boost in sales of our statement cufflinks. For me the male jewellery market is a difficult one to get right. I feel that men like to keep it really simple. They wear their good watch, a signet ring/ wedding ring and very little else. Even if they have a bracelet or necklace it tends to be a classic one they wear all the time and change very little. The need for men to change their accessories regularly just isn’t there.
