CHURCH
planting
Church planting experts estimate 4,000 new churches are needed
every year in America alone to replace dying churches and meet the
additional demand created by population growth and evangelism.
Through the Jerusalem Project, Calvary is working to establish new
evangelical congregations.
Funds given through the Jerusalem Project continue to support the
work we are doing to plant and nuture our church plants. Just this fall,
Calvary planted New Heart Church with Adam and Ruth Anderson
in East Grand Rapids. Through the Jerusalem Project, Calvary is
providing all of their initial funding, and helping the church through
elder oversight and office space for Adam. Calvary Church has also
been providing significant funding to continue to help Lenski and
Tanya Llorens plant Sanctuary Church, a year-old church birthed
at Calvary and now located on the northwest side of Grand Rapids.
A third recent church plant, Pauper’s Chapel in Portland, Maine
continues to grow and mature and Calvary has continued to be
faithful to support this difficult work in a very dark place.
This coming year, the Jerusalem Project will help provide resources
to continue to establish these new church plants. We also want to
keep moving forward in prayerfully seeking out other places where
we can plant churches.
