The yearly JEMUN conference agenda is chosen after careful and extensive deliberation and discussion by the Organizing Committee and deals with an issue of great importance to the world that needs to be addressed with comprehensive and innovative solutions; that serve as a basis for resolutions in the future. This year delegates confronted a number of challenges dealing with Tourism.

In 2017 JEMUN offered a variety of roles in five unique meeting rooms. Four of the five meeting rooms were for university-aged students, and one meeting room welcomed high school students from schools in Japan, Spain, and China. JEMUN delegates consist of Japanese students, international students studying in Japan, and foreign students from abroad.

Students from around the world take on the role of United Nations Delegates, and experience cooperative, hands-on learning allowing them to confront a topic in English from the perspective of their assigned country. Through these experiences, during preparation and in committee sessions, participants will develop an appreciation of differing viewpoints, the difficulty of negotiation, the rewards of cooperation, and a broader view of the human side of international relations and diplomacy.
