The Tourism Emergency Response Network

The Tourism Emergency Response Network (TERN) was initially established in 2006 to be a “network of networks” working for a single cause: to make travel and destinations safe for tourists. The TERN consists of thirty-four (34) associations around the world, who are able to assist in the coordination of resources in the aftermath of a tourism emergency. The World Tourism Organization, following a request from the Security Council, has convened twenty (20) member states to debate the strengthening of the TERN. Delegates are tasked with answering the following questions: Should UN Member States be a part of TERN? And if so, what role should they play within the network?
