The Grapevine Issue 172 2014| A citizen criticises the blue “roundabout” at Barclays because we are unconscious of the danger: what would happen to his little daughter if the glass cuts her feet? An old lady who is fed up (aren’t we all?) with the dogs’ poo which adorn most of our roads & parks made a suggestion: I have seen a lot of dogs running on their own and leave their excrement on the pavement.... Why don’t we fine them? In “Avenida de La Fontana”, people have often complained that the sweepers don’t do their jobs properly. After all, a normal thing when you wake up at 11 am on a windy day! I sometimes had to avoid answering that “future belongs to the persons who wake up early” and just contented myself saying that when I pass at 7.30 am, I am always proud when I see Cespa’s team & engines working As soon as the “bando del Alcalde” restricting the hours of noise had been published, reactions like the following ones have surprised us: by Cllr Doris Courcelles • Why doesn’t the Town Hall respect the time itself: why don’t they collect rubbish at 9 am? I am still wondering how we could empty all the bins which are distributed on 68 square kilometres at the same time! • Why was Amjasa repairing a leak at 7 am if the building work must start at 9 am? Should we have let the water flowing out or should we have cut the general supply to let people without services instead of repairing the breakdown? Believe me, these are not anecdotes and fruits of my imagination. They are only a sketch of what amused us these last two months.......... No need to add that we are all looking forward to September when Jávea gets back to “normal”
