Freesat is the name of the UK satellite
TV service which offers access to the
subscription free UK TV channels.

Examples of these channels are
all BBC TV and Radio channels,
ITV1,2,3,4, Channel 4, E4, More4,
Film4, Five, Five* and Five USA.
The most popular Freesat receivers
are the Freesat HD and Freesat HD+.
In total there are over 170 channels
available on Freesat.
These allow you to watch 11
subscription free HD TV channels.
Of which the majority of these can be
received in Javea on a satellite dish
measuring 100x110cms, with the
125x135cm satellite dish being the
recommended size.
These include BBC One HD, BBC
Two HD, BBC Three HD, BBC Four
HD, ITV1HD, and Channel 4 HD.
Freesat is only available on official
Freesat receivers.
You cannot get Freesat on a Sky box,
although the channels on Freesat
are also available on a Sky box (even
with no viewing card).
You cannot receive Freesat on any
of the other satellite receivers being
sold in the area.
Receivers like the Ferguson Ariva,
Iberosat, GI may be advertised as
being “Freesat” receivers, or able to
receive Freesat, but they cannot.
