Javea Grapevine Issue No. 170 - 2014 - Page 13

My work at the Town Hall has been very demanding, as both the municipality and AMJASA the municipal water company continue to make improvements to the infrastructure of our town. The well managed water company celebrated the closing of the 2012 financial year with a surplus of 954,000 euros, all of which has been invested in the water network including the renovation of over 2,500 meters of water mains. In addition the Town Hall’s remaining budget surplus from 2013 will be used to carry out many public works, including a major plan for re-asphalting many roads in urbanizations, which will be a continuation of our previous works. It has taken much effort, but finally we have obtained approval for another major infrastructure improvement. The Alicante Provincial Government will construct new storm drains at a cost of 145.590,73 euros, on the Travesía de Cansalades, Xàbia. This will prevent flooding on the road during periods of heavy rain. The Grapevine Issue 170 2014| 13 | Now is the time to continue working hard with enthusiasm and humility, and above all with the help of all of you; so often the messages of encouragement you send me give me strength to continue working. We have only one year remaining of our current legislature, a year of significant challenges, which I will face with great responsibility and the hope that everything goes well. With my best wishes and see you soon Your Mayor, José Chulvi
