Furthermore, we have set a target to make the consolidation of the economic recovery a reality, and reach out to those most in need. For this we will develop a new plan to create local employment, providing entrepreneurs with the tools to provide training. We will provide facilities for companies to develop their activities in Xàbia, and for the universities to offer new postgraduate courses here. We will implement new initiatives for tourism, our great development motor, so that it is not limited only to the summer months. In that sense, as Head of Tourism, I can announce that our town is working to position itself as one of the top diving destinations around the Mediterranean. On the other hand, we want Xàbia to continue as the town which we know, whose greatest values are its natural heritage and cultural identity. Growth has to come in a sustainable manner and respect our identity and we will do our best to ensure it does so. We cannot forget the tens of thousands of people who come to visit us each year, and all those who decide to remain and live with us who are attracted by the environment and specific life style. Also 2016 should be the year of the small things. Every street, every urbanisation and every district is equally important to us. Perhaps a clean sidewalk, a newly paved road or effective Social Services, news which does not hit the newspaper headlines, but these are the key to making things work.
