Since I was appointed
mayor of Xàbia,
one of the aspects to
which I have given
great importance is
the matter of citizen
participation. I believe
that important things
should be decided
together, by listening
and
valuing
all
opinions.
A few days ago
we reactivated the
Council for Urban
Development
in
which are represented

not only the political
parties
but
also
members of civil
society and business.
As you know, we
are preparing a new
General Plan which
will decide on the
growth of our town
and the relatio nship
that we have with the
environment; this is an
important debate. We
do not support a return
to the irresponsible
expansion of previous
decades.

Our model is small
town planning that
ensures that the day
to day issues work
well. For example
we have recently
begun
renovating
the pavements of
Avenida del Colomer
and we plan similar
activities in other
parts of Xàbia. We
have also addressed
and resolved petitions,
concerning
street
lighting and cleaning;
we like to work for the
people.
