GETTING STARTED – back to basics.
The first tense we usually learn is the Present Tense.
This is used for talking about what we do on a regular
basis. It’s confusing at first, but the good news is, that
once you have learned the patterns of how you change
the endings to ‘fit’ the person, you’ve learned how to
change almost every verb!!
There are three ‘families’ of verb, AR, ER & IR, so called
because they are the last two letters of the FULL FORM
/ INFINITIVE.
To make the verb ‘fit’ the person, (conjugate the verb)
you simply take the AR/ER/IR off the full form of the verb,
& replace them with something else. I’ve coloured the
changes in RED.
