visited Jávea to tourism model
The visit was conducted for students
from the Tourism Management and
Tourism Destination Course
The group was headed by Professor
Josep Ivars, former director of Invat.
tur (Valencian Institute of Tourism
Technologies). The central activity
was to a presentation at the Casa de
Cultura with the councillor for of Economic Development, Cesc Camprubí
and Cllr. Pilar Zamora.
Run by Carol Cholbi, the talkcovered
the direct relationship between urban
development, planning and tourism,
society and economic model. Xàbia
fits into a pattern of expansive development that after periods of intense growth that have changed the
appearance of the town, now seeks
interventions that respect the landscape and environmental heritage
as well as offering added value. This,
explained Cesc Camprubí, cab be
found in the creation of new hotel
rooms or in care homes etc.
