and ABBA?
U3A Jávea
During their AGM in
March at the Parador
Hotel the members of
U3A Javea were addressed by the new
President of Help of
Denia and Marina
Alta, Candy Wright,
who explained about
the facilities and services Help DAMA provides. Candy outlined
her ambitions to expand the services offered by Help DAMA
to start new support
groups for Alzheimer
Carers and for Stroke
Victims. Candy introduced her Vice President, Catherine Pérez
Pinto, who is a member of U3A Javea and
co-ordinates
Help
DAMA activities in
Javea.
U3A Javea President Stephen Burke
explained, “each year
the members of U3A
Javea choose a local
charity to benefit from
their fundraising activities and Help DAMA
has been chosen
for 2015. Although
not primarily a fundraising organisation,
throughout the year
our members support and hold events
to raise money for the
chosen charity which
also benefits from any
cash surplus generated by the major annual social events.”
Stephen announced
that
the
next
major event is the
U3A Javea
10th
Anniversary
Ball
5th June
at Salones Carrasco in Javea for which
tickets are now available.
