The Library of
Jávea opens a
book point
in the Mercat
Municipal
The Library of
Jávea, which
currently has
6,300 members,
also has an
international
section
coordinated by
volunteers and
children’s
reading club for
family reading and
is active in the
promotion of
reading habits
among Children
with weekly
storytelling sessions and activities, in coordination with schools.
Javea
celebrated
with several activities
to mark World Book
Day. Children’s workshops that have been
a great success the
joined the opening of
a point to access free
books(book crossing)
in a public space that
can be found inside
the Mercat Municipal.
The staff of the Public Library helped by
volunteers from the
international section
created a stall with
novels, poetry books
and various publications for both children
and adults and in several languages.
The objective, according to the councillor of Education
and Culture, Empar
Bolufer, is that people
can get free books
that interest them and
also to leave some
for the enjoyment of
others. There was
also an exhibition of
children’s illustrations
of Andersen tales on
the ground floor of
the town library open
for two weeks.
The library also hosted an evening recital of haiku poems, a
style of Japanese poetry beginning with a
presentation of a book
