Jávea Grapevine February 2015|
I never want to stop being close to all our citizens,
this month we had the sad news, regarding the
disappearance of Sean Lonegan, a resident whose
body was found by police after days of intensive
searching. I attended the funeral of Sean, and saw
how well remembered he was, by both his family and
friends; he was a great person, and I would like to
express my sincere condolences to his wife, family
and friends.
But I also enjoyed a happy moment, visiting Yolande,
a Swiss resident who turned 90 years of age, and who
has spent over 30 years in Xàbia.
We have also arrived at an important year, a year when
local elections will take place, elections in which with
great enthusiasm, I will again present my candidature
as Mayor. My sincere wish is to continue for four more
years working for my town and its citizens, always
being there to help. To this end, I will work hard with all
those who want to join me in this new way of governing
Xàbia which we began in 2011, opening the doors
of our town hall, and governing with transparency,
integrity and honesty; and having a constant and fluid
contact with all the citizens of our town.
I think we’ve shown a good example, that there is
another way of working and running a town. Be in
touch soon.
Best wishes from your Mayor, José
