| Jávea Grapevine February 2015 Ten years ago, FCEmaus was set up to provide the ‘extras’ for the children within Emaús care - gifts and outings.  Due to the economic climate and reduced funding from government, efforts these days are more often steered to the essential things of life like food and warmth. • At €30 per couple or €20 per individual per year it’s not a massive amount but makes such a difference. • If the vehicle that transports children to school breaks down, who is going to pay? If a gas bill comes in and there is no money, who is going to pay? • • • fund raising Please consider donating clothes for the children from birth through to 17 years. • Hold your own fund raising event: Take up a challenge: school trips and books, dental work and spectacles; making the houses more comfortable places to live... Do you have a personal challenge that you would like to achieve that people could sponsor you for. • making sure there is always a vehicle when needed. Make a donation: Many view their subscription fee as an annual donation, others like to make a donation when they have a little spare cash.  • Donate a raffle prize: The Friends are always looking for prizes for the raffles held at a large number Donate baby or children’s clothes at one of the ONE STOP DROP SHOPS: Has your child outgrown some clothes that still have plenty of wear in them?  Donate furniture or household goods at one of the ONE STOP DROP SHOPS: Are you updating your furniture and the original is still in good order? Do you have household items you no longer need? Please consider donating them to one of the houses. • Are you planning a challenge event where money could be raised through sponsorship, maybe a sponsored swim or walk? shoes and sport shoes; If you would like to help, there are many ways that you could make a real difference to little lives. • Or are you part of a group or association that is planning an event and would like to donate the money to the Children? winter and summer clothes, The list goes on and on; and fulfilling it is accomplished by running fundraising events and working with other groups, businesses and individuals to raise money. Become a ‘Member’ of the Association yourself: Be creative: Many people who have a creative hobby find themselves with a surplus of the items they create.  Do you have anything you could donate for sale or for a raffle prize? • Donate some time: You may have a skill: gardening, painting, curtainmaking. Or more expert help such as plastering or other building skills? Can you help at an event? Make cakes for a cake stall? Lots of ways to help and a great way to meet new people!
