The Laundry was originally
started by Maggie & Ted (who
built the entire block) as an
all-purpose built American-Style
Coin Laundrette.
Over the thirty-eight years that
the laundry has been here it has
only passed through five sets of
hands to the current owners.
Lorrie Hawke and her team will
be known to many locals as they
have run the Laundry for over
twelve years.
Most of the changes to the way
that the Laundry Services are
still run took place under Ross
& Diane Ord’s 13 year Stewardship. They changed the laundry
to a much more service-based
semi-industrial style business,
bringing in new dry-cleaning
equipment and contracting out
carpets and leather to local
specialists.
Everything is catered for within
Los Delfines from suits, dresses,
coats, sheets, towels, duvets,
bedcovers, sofa & seat covers,
cushions and curtains to tablecloths - from casual clients &
private homes to large villa rental agencies, contract customers
and restaurants - they will clean
pretty much anything that will go
inside a washing machine or that
can be dry-cleaned!
In the time that Lorrie has run
Los Delfines, they have always
concentrated on updating to the
latest machines.
They now have hand irons,
Roller irons, new dryers and
washers in a range that can take
items from 5kg to 30kg loads.
