Jávea Grapevine No.173 2015| Hello everyone. 2014 was a year of many challenges, especially the dreadful fire in September, but we have achieved many of our objectives, improving the infrastructure and completing many projects. Nevertheless Xàbia continues to suffer the implications of the economic crisis, and to the many dedicated volunteers in the Red Cross, Caritas and the all the other charitable organisations in our town, who work so hard to help the poorest families in our community, I would like to convey my warmest thanks and appreciation. This is the last full year of the current administration, with the municipal elections looming in May 2015. However we will face the New Year committed to devoting all our energies and efforts to continuously improve Xàbia for the benefit of our citizens, and make it an even more attractive tourist destination. Many of you will be leaving Xàbia to spend the holidays with family and friends, to those I wish a safe journey and a Happy Christmas. For the residents remaining in Xàbia, I hope you will enjoy Xàbia’s traditional seasonal celebrations. My wife Monica and I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a healthy, and happy 2015.
