Rounding
off 2014
It is difficult to believe that the whole
world is not selfish these days...
Well, in 2014 I was able to see that
generosity is not a “lost” quality.
While the fire was destroying “La
Plana” and putting in peril the life
of the citizens and their properties,
we discovered a wonderful chain of
solidarity.
On the Friday morning I found 147
mails on my server.
A few residents asked me why, in
this case, we don’t put the price of
the rubbish down and I had to explain
them that we already foresee this
when we study the yearly budget.
I take advantage of this column to
remind you that the Town Hall via
Cespa is giving a free collection of
items service so..... don’t break your
back, loading old furnitures in your
car & don’t try to find a “secret” place
to unload it.
All these people were offering
accommodation, pets care, food,
cleaning & gardening help etc...
Fortunately, the affected neighbours
were able to go back to their homes
but we have also been offered support
for when the reforestation starts.

The only problem is that the items
have to be standing at the entrance
of your property as the employees
cannot enter private plots.
At the moment, the priorities are
given to the cleaning of the burned
areas and the reconstruction of the
terraces stone walls.

Just dial the 900 102 149 and ask for
a collection of your goods. You will be
told when the lorry will come to pick
them up.
In 2007, when the “Cespa” services
Company started its 10 years
contract, the slogan was: “entretots
Xàbia neta”and that means: “all
together for a clean Jávea”.
Another sign of public spirit was
the good news which came from
“Ecoembes”, the Company which
deals with the management of
recyclable waste collected from the
blue and the yellow containers. We got
58.275 € as an annual bonus (which
has to be added to the c.175.000 €
we already get per year), a sort of
“great efficiency” financial reward.
Let’s think that we are all putting our
grain of sand in this project!
