Jávea Grapevine No.173 2015| Michelle Hughes from Villa Mia with a small selection of the donations VillaMia’s collection point has been a huge success with donations pouring in for EMAÚS – an organisation running 7 shelters for 98 children from toddlers up to 17 year olds.    EMAÚS also support a Refuge for Abused Women, a Baby Unit and a home for 24 mentally challenged young adults.  Working alongside the ´Make A Smile´ Charity the Warriors of EMAUS deliver all donations directly to the homes.   VillaMia, located at Javea Auto Sales by the Ferrobox roundabout in Javea, has received several donations from clients including clothes, toys, books, dvds and even an xbox with games. Open Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturdays 10am to 2pm it is an easy location to reach with parking.   Michelle Hughes, owner of the agency specialising in long term rentals, said: “The feedback has been great but they are still desperate for more donations such as toiletries, household cleaning products, long life milk, breakfast cereals, baby food and the usual groceries consumed by healthy and growing children.   Also, with Christmas just around the corner they would welcome any unopened gifts which can be used as Christmas presents for the children. It is heart breaking to think some of these children won’t have anything to open at all but the volunteers work hard so they at least have one present on Christmas day.” Although EMAUS is an association funded with grants this is never enough. Each year it needs to find over 30% extra in the form of donations. EMAUS is grateful for the local support and asks Javea people to continue to support this worth-while cause.   Picture Caption: Michelle Hughes from VillaMia with a small selection of the donations Michelle Hughes Villa Mia Tel:  +34 96 579 4139 Mobile: +34 630 724 931 www.villamia.net [email protected] Follow us on facebook www.facebook.com/VillaMia.
