Xàbia creates a “Living Library” with the testimony of residents with experiences as refugees, activism or overcoming life The activity is part of the Week of Cultural Diversity The City Council of Xàbia will dedicate id-May to give prominence to the rich cultural diversity of the municipality with a specific program that will give voice to migrants and try to break prejudices and stereotypes. The most symbolic activity will be the so-called “living library” and will be carried out by nine residents in Xàbia who treasure very interesting personal stories. Each of them will become a “book person” that can be consulted and thus know their trips, adventures or stories of improvement The Councilor for Social Services, Pepa Gisbert, thanked the generosity of these people, in all cases, very enriching testimonies. There are Naziha Barnoussi and Souad Merabet, two revolutionaries who have overcome the popular image of “submissive Arab women” and have been an example of coexistence, respect and liberation.
