As a true community project, members are also encouraged to put forward the name of a local charity that is close to their hearts. For their first donation of €300, JCF have chosen Tanamera Hunting Dog Rescue, a small dog shelter based in Javea who focuses on rescuing abandoned and abused Podenco hunting dogs. JCF are keen to focus on small size charities who do not have the fund raising capabilities of bigger organisations. So if you are an instructor and would like to give a class as part of our community project in a location of your choice in Javea, please get in touch with JCF. And of course if you are a fitness fanatic or a beginner alike, just put your trainers on and come and give the classes a go! You’ll do yourself and your community a favour! Without exception, they enter the shelter being only skin and bones and food is their first need. The refuge has to pay the food bill for the dogs who often need special food (liver/heart problems, recovery & puppy food). On average this amounts to 335 euros per month to be able to give them the food they need. And then of course there are the vet costs for operations, blood tests, castration and spaying, treatments, etc.
